Our Story
Voose is an ancient village with a history dating back nearly 800 years. Until the 18th century, Voose was home to one of East-Harju's most important crossroad and at this intersection stood the Voose Tavern, which inspired the idea of developing the village into a tourism destination. Voose village is a place deeply rooted in history. First mentioned in 1241 in the Danish Census Book, the area was inhabited long before that.
Towards the end of the Swedish era, the famous Voose Tavern was built here — a historical gem that has since been carefully dismantled and awaits a respectful restoration.
To breathe new life into the area, local resident Tanel Talve established the Voose Päikesekodu seminar center on the former tavern site. Built using innovative yet natural materials, the center’s main building features straw panels, reflecting a strong commitment to sustainability.
Guests can enjoy accommodation in eco-friendly Kärg-cabins, uniquely crafted houses made in Estonia. With straw panel walls, these homes provide an excellent microclimate, ensuring deep, refreshing sleep. The choice of straw panels highlights the dedication to eco-friendliness and reuse.
Tanel is committed to keeping the historic Voose village vibrant and alive. His mission is to attract visitors, support the local community and foster a sense of collaboration — because strong communities create welcoming homes for everyone.
“My goal is to make people feel at home when they visit us,” says Tanel.

Our main building’s solar-panel roof now powers an electric car charger with a capacity of up to 22 kW and a price of 0.24 EUR/kWh. This cutting-edge solution was installed by the Estonian company Elele.
Choose eco-friendliness: Leave your car in our parking lot to charge and head out to the Kakerdaja bog trail with a nostalgic bicycle rented from our neighbor Vello. It’s a refreshing way to recharge both your car and your own energy!
